5.3 Formula #2: One or Both Groups Have a Sample Size Less Than 30

Suppose that you wanted to see if there was a geographic variation in body length (in mm) of queen honeybees in two different regions of the world (REGION A and REGION B). Suppose, further, that you have been asked to analyze the data from this study and to compare the body lengths of the two regions using the two-group t-test for independent samples. You decide to try out your new Excel skills on a small sample of queen honeybees from each region on the hypothetical data given in Fig. 5.12:
